They were married in the Salt Lake Temple on December 5, 1940. Spencer and Gladys recently celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary with their family and friends. He served in many capacities in the church including as a temple worker and as a full time missionary along with his wife in the Houston Texas Mission. He loved horses and spent several happy years as part of the West Jordan Riding Club. He also loved dogs, tools, sports, and cars. The Hind sense of humor is legendary and Spencer was no exception. Sad News

This picture is the most recent picture I have of them, this is on Annies Blessing day.
Today has been a day of many thoughts. We knew that it was coming sooner than we wanted. My mom just called me to tell me that my Grandpa isnt doing too well and that they only give him a week or two. Which is not what we wanted to hear. We knew that he has been getting really weak, and has had a few falls. He fell the other day, and has been getting worse. He isnt responding well and doesnt look good.
So today I have been thinking of all the memories that I have of him. Many of you know that he is deaf, and has been since his childhood. But to me it has been wonderfull to see that side of life. I have enjoyed learning his language, and to see him smile and be sooo happy when I can communicate with him. I dont know it too well but enough to communicate with him and my grandma. I have a hard time interpreting prayers, but I love to do it for him when he has been over to my parents house for dinner. Just to see his smile, that I did it.
He has taught me many things, and also my dad. A few memories that I have is when we would ride in his truck with him, and my dad. Everytime we would get in, he would do the little nuckle punch, where he puts his elbow in our tummy and give a little punch with his other hand. He was always smiling and I knew that was his way of playing. He loves horses, I remember watching him, and his horse in the July 4th Horse parade that used to be in West Jordan. He has a great love for work, he would always be helping, and when he couldnt help he would love to just sit and watch. Which he still does. He loves to watch my kids play, and loves to see them smile and happy. He has always kept busy, untill he has started getting weak, and having health problems. But I remember him riding his bike everywhere. We were fortunate to live only a couple blocks away from them, when we were growing up. And he would walk over all the time just to visit. He loved to go on walks. He loves to spend time with his big family. I love to see the way he loves my Grandma, there was a time this year when she had to live in a physical therapy center for a while. And the separation was just awfull for him. He would be taken to visit her everyday, and he just never wanted to leave her. And when they would say goodbye for the night it was very sad. I am very thankfull for family, and that I have been able to be apart of his family. He will be missed, and I know this sounds like he is already gone. But I just had to express my love for him while I had been thinking about it. He will be greatly missed.

Jillian had her preschool Christmas program, and did a great job. She did get a little nervous again. But she did it and did great. Here are some pictures, the first one is when she was singing. Then her friends Morgan, Devin (cousin), and other friend Josh.

This video they are singing so cute! This was one of her favorite songs, she was singing it all week.

And this is Jillian saying her part, she was nervous that she couldnt say it all by herself. Which she did memorize it and could do it till she had to go up for the program. That is ok, I am just glad she was able to do her part this time.

The "Kids Tree"

The girls had been begging to put up the tree, since we dont do it till the day after Thanksgiving. But we decided to let the girls put up their tree, which is in the basement. This tree is for all their ornaments that they get each year, or ones that they make at school.

Kelsie reaching way up high

Annie does the bottom, she really took it serious, she loved putting up the ornaments.

Daddy helping Jillian get one on the top.

All three decorating the tree. Brandon says that we always need to have one at each eye level so that all levels of the tree will be decorated. But I dont think so!!

Thanksgiving, sooner than later

I know Thanksgiving was almost a month ago, but I just havent wanted to post pictures. And now I am posting a lot of posts all at the same time. Anywho's I thought I should get these on here before it is Christmas time.
We had a great Thanksgiving, we were able to spend the big dinner with Brandons side of the family. Everyone was there except for Amy and Brandons family. But they are coming for Christmas we cant wait to see them. It was a great dinner, they wanted to try deep frying a turkey this year. So the men did that one, while there was a bigger one in the oven. It was a good thing, because they took the Deep Fry one out a little too late, so it was a little crispy, but good. And my rolls were about to explode because the turkey took a little longer than planned. But it was all in all a good dinner.
Then we went over to my parents for dessert. It was a nice, warm and fun thanksgiving this year.

Quinton and Annie were ready to eat, so they were snacking on the cute little snacks that Robyn made for our place settings.

After dinner, Uncle Jared, Brandon and the the three younger of the bunch that were there. Annie, Quinton, and Spencer

Kelsie, Karsen, and Nathan playing games. Kelsie liked hanging out with the older kids that day. She just looked so old playing games with the older kids. She had a fun time.

Celine Dion Concert

I am sure most of you have heard that they canceled the concert that was supposed to happen last Friday. And have postponed it to February, on a Sunday. Yep I am not too happy. So after a long time of thinking about it, we decided to get a refund on our tickets to pay for Christmas this year. I know it was a hard decision. It wouldnt have been if it wasnt on a Sunday, but oh well. So I will never get to see her in concert. :(

Go UTAH 12-0

We of course went to the Utah /BYU Game this last Saturday. It was alot of fun. I love games that score alot, you get to cheer that many more times. But with this game a few of the touchdowns they reviewed, so we got to cheer a few extra times. I thought I was going to loose my voice a little, but I seem to be fine. Of course after the game everyone stormed the field. We did end up going down but waited for the mad dash, then safely went down. Here are a few pictures of the Mountain West presentation. BCS here we come. Maybe we will be heading to New Orleans. :) Not counting on it.

This Video is of the fans storming the field for the second time. They started to go on the field before the game was over. Duh didnt they notice the time clock. :) So they got a penalty, but this video is of the end of the game.

Trick o Treating Bags

I dont know how many of you watch Good Things Utah, but I do when I get the chance. But they had this cute idea on it for these cute bags. So I thought I would try it, and I think they turned out pretty cute. And the were super easy. They arent 100% finished but I will get them done before I put them away. The girls need to finish their candy.

Kelsie is the Frankenstein, Jillian is the Ghosts, and Annies is the Pumpkin

Happy Halloween!!! We had a great day, Brandon was able to take the day off so it was nice. He ended up babysitting all day, but it was a nice break for me, thanks honey. The kids had a great day. We started Trick o Treating at about 6:15. After we went to the first house, we happened to meet up with some friends. So we continued around the block with them. It was fun, we both ended up going with the girls a lot longer than we planned. So by the time Brandon decided to take Jillian and Annie back there was no one out. So we have lots of candy, which is a bad thing for me. Then we headed over to Elzingas to show the costumes.

This is what Brandon dressed up as, it was fun to spray his hair. I am not sure it is what he had visioned but it turned out cool. Then when he was putting on the fake chin hair, Jillian asked him if he was dressing as Uncle Jared. It was funny. And then our friend Becky said, "how come you didnt dress up?" to Brandon, because he already is a huge UTah FAn. I liked it I wish he would grow some facial hair sometimes.

Annie as a cute Bumble bee, we had to force her to stay in this. She was not into the halloween costume stuff. She would ask to take it off, by trying to lift it off. But we would ignore her.

Jillian as "Devil Girl" She loved this costume, which surprises me. She also loved having her hair sprayed Red. She wanted to keep it, but being the mean mom I made her wash it out so it didnt get all over her bed.

Kelsie as Vampiress, is that a word? She loved it, every bit. I was surprised she wanted her hair sprayed and face painted. But she loved it. I loved the costume.

All three

Our Haunted house, we had music playing too. Well it was mostly sounds. Bummer that we werent home to have it used. NExt year, it was just too warm to not go out.

Brandons scary pumpkin, he was sick of doing detailed stuff so he quickly carved a scary face.

Kelsie's pumpkin was the Tinkerbell, and Jillians is Minnie mouse, I think they turned out cute for not being actuall pumpkin templates.

Halloween Parade at School

Kelsie had her Halloween parade at school, which Brandon,Annie and I were able to go and watch. It was really windy but fun. Then after Brandon took Annie home and I stayed and helped out in her class. It was alot of fun. They made these fun HAunted houses, they really enjoyed it. Then I went to lunch with her, she has been begging me all year. I guess I will have to do it a few more times.
