St George/ Zion National Park

We were able to get away to St George in April for a great little vacation. Brandon had a work conference the same week as the kids Spring Break. So we took advantage to go for a whole week and enjoy some much needed sunny warm weather. The weather was perfect the entire week. It couldn't have been better. We had a few interesting things happen at the first part of the week. Had a great time. There are lots of pictures!!

First day we headed to Zion National Park, since it was free national park week. And we had never taken the kids, and I don't know when Brandon or I went. I don't remember any of it. We should have asked before we went on what are the best hikes with kids. But we didn't so we were just going for it.

Mostly we just rode the shuttle, and stopped at a few places. I guess we should have rode the shuttle to the end and did the river walk. We heard after the fact that that is the best one. Next Time!

This is at the lower emerald pools. Not a bad hike.

Weeping rock, the kids love the waterfalls.

When we were leaving Zions is when we figured out that Annie wasn't feeling too hot, and we had been dragging her all over. We found out at dinner, on the way back to the condo, when she lost her dinner at the restaurant. Poor Girl!

Playing at the "cool" park as my kids would say. It was a little hot so we didn't stay long. Playing with Grandma.

We went hiking on the Red Cliffs above St George, above the Dixie sign that is painted on the mountain. We call it the Little Narrows. It was fun, and an easy hike, my kids always to climb around the rocks.

We had some friends the Oblads, that were down there the same time we were, for their sons 16th birthday. So we planned a little BBQ and swimming at the place where they were staying. They rented the house that the movie High School Musical 2 was filmed. So needless to say the girls were in heaven, and were excited all week to go swimming in the HSM pool. The house was awesome, and the view was georgous. It was a blast, yummy food, and fun company.

Swimming in the pool, do you recognize the water fall?

Kelsie helping Annie put on the Putting green that is in the backyard of the house they stayed at.

Evan Oblad with Kelsie and Jillian, putting around.

My dad and the girls putting. That is the back of the house.

Video of the girls swinging with Grandpa and Grandma. This was right behind our condo which was nice to have close by.

I have never been up above the Dixie sign not would I know how to get up there. We need to plan a trip down there together, then we can all go hiking together. Or plan another trip to Moab :)
Looks like a good time!!
